Our local park is exploding with radiant pink, yellow, blue, orange and violet spring flowers: flower power pure! As I returned home from a walk through the park, I asked myself how I could adopt this impacting experience to a decoration for a small bedroom. I soon found the answer, whilst gazing through a super textile collection.
Furniture is also important for your decor. Choose furniture with clean lines and also sustainability. If choosing wood furniture, choose very dark wood as it is the most modern and clean looking of all the wood chooses. Lighter wood colors tend to give off more of a country cottage feeling. You can take your modern bedroom decor even further with black wood furniture, especially a platform bed.
A blue bedroom feels far more gender-neutral (though it could be simply because of the way society has programmed us for years) and blue as a color is better at calming nerves and inducing sleep than pink. Pastel blues easily combine with lighter shades of gray and off-white giving you greater freedom when it comes to choosing the color scheme of the bedroom. If you are really in the mood to try out something unique, then a monochromatic bedroom filled with pastel blues or different shades of mint green is a fun project to try out. Of course, adding simpler pastel accents to your existing bedroom is a far easier affair. But it simply lacks the flamboyance of bedrooms draped in pastels.
It is white and blue that traditionally ushers in the magic of sun, sand and surf into your bedroom. But go down a different route this summer and replace the white in that equation with far more exciting shades of gray. Apart from giving your nautical or coastal style bedroom a fresh, new look, replacing white with gray gives you greater decorating freedom and a chance to try out newer shades of blue. In fact, you can fill the backdrop with light gray and maybe even a hint of white and use pops of teal, turquoise or periwinkle for greater visual impact. From bedding and drapes to a complete bedroom furniture set in blue, a gray background lets you switch between hues with ease.
