Many people who purchase a "transition" set for their child end up purchasing a better set of bedroom furniture when their child gets older. Or, parents may hand down the set to a younger sibling and then purchase a newer, more "grown up" set for the older child. Regardless, at some point you will probably look to purchase one of the more expensive bedroom packages that are available. These sets are made of quality materials and should last your child for many, many years. In fact, your child may still be using one of the bed sets in their first apartment after college.
If you want to choose one of the bedroom sets that can be used for many years, you will probably want to choose a classic style with timeless features that carry on over multiple generations. Standard wood tones also work well no matter what your personal style may be. You might want to purchase one of the pine bed sets or a bed set made of maple or cherry wood depending on your taste and goal with the interior design. Of course, safety is also important and cannot be overlooked. When you are deciding which set to purchase, you will want to check to see that the set meets the current safety standards. If you are purchasing bunk beds, you should make sure that the bed slats are close enough together that a young child does not fall through or become entangled in. All materials for the bedroom sets should also meet current safety standards.
