Decorations, once you have covered the basics, give your teenager the choices of decorations. Paintings, pictures, and posters as well as mirrors and even trinkets can be a few decorations to use in your teenagers bedroom. Discuss these while you are trying to come up with ideas. This is where your teenager is able make their bedroom match their personality and by implementing her ideas you will find she will be much happier with her bedroom.
Space, if your child is not afraid of the dark, a space theme can be a real winner. A black, dark blue or deep purple base color, decorated with stars, planets and space rockets can be really evocative of the theme in question. It is even possible to get non-toxic glow in the dark paint for the stars, so that they are still visible even when the light is turned off. If you are precise, you can decorate the stars in the patterns of real constellations, so that your child will become familiar with and comfortable with the night sky outside.
