When you see a bedroom with contemporary design, you will notice that there are very few decorations (if none at all). Why so? Since simplicity is the key in contemporary bedroom design, the simpler it is, the better. Not much thought is placed on where the bed is set, where the chairs are, where the television is, other than where these are practical. In this type of bedroom design, there is a good amount of space in the middle of the room, and the furniture is placed in ideal locations, where it is easy for the person to go to (or where he prefers). Unlike other types of bedroom design wherein extra space is filled out with decors, the space in this form of design remains to be space.
Finally, you can start working with different accessories to complete the nature-based scheme of your bedroom design. If you're stumped on what to look for, there are a few basics that work no matter what. Pressed leaves or flowers in beautiful, simple frames are an elegant touch to a nature inspired bedroom. Woven baskets, metallic accents and so forth, all work well in these types of spaces. Once you know where to start, a nature inspired bedroom design is easy to create.
Whether accompanied by a partner or not, we should consider our bedroom the one area where we are obliged to please no one but ourselves (the words indulgence and pampering spring to mind). It therefore makes good sense for the 'best' bedroom space and access to dressing and bathroom facilities to be reserved for this purpose. At last the benefits of self-containment have been realized. We expect to pay a premium for a hotel suite, so why not plan permanent accommodation on similar lines, with areas set aside for hobbies, relaxing, dressing, bathing and of course sleeping?
Everyone has their personal preference when it comes to the choice of bedside table or cupboard. There are, though, some common principles worth considering. First, for convenience, it is best if the unit is approximately the same height as the top of the bed mattress. This will vary, but will most usually be around 50cm/lft 8in. Ideally there should be enough space within the unit to accommodate all that you might wish to store at the bedside: this will help prevent a cluttered top with nowhere to set down that occasional cup of tea or perhaps a posy of fresh rosebuds. A sheet of clear glass cut to the outline of the top of a cloth-covered table will help to prevent staining and dust gathering on the fabric surface.
